Winner of six Tony Awards®, including Best Musical, Dear Evan Hansen is a contemporary and deeply moving musical about a socially anxious high school senior, Evan Hansen, who is thrust into a family's tragedy and becomes a viral hero for a good deed that never happened. He manufactures a friendship with the victim of suicide and becomes very close to the family and particularly the sister of the dead boy.
The show explores the universal themes of loneliness, connection, and the human need to belong, all told through a powerful story for the digital age.
At its core, Dear Evan Hansen is a story about the agony of youth, the importance of emotional honesty, and how sharing vulnerabilities can reveal that others are experiencing similar struggles. It's a reminder of the healing power of connection, even amidst pain and deceit.

We welcome performers of all backgrounds and experience levels. Casting will be based on suitability for the roles and commitment to the rehearsal process.
Rugby Theatre operates an open casting policy, everyone is encouraged to audition for our shows.

We look forward to welcoming you - no one deserves to be forgotten!
