Sir Ian McKellen plays a career con artist, Roy Courtnay. He meets can a wealthy widow, Betty McLeish, online (Dame Helen Mirren).

Betty opens her life and home to him, and the cunning manipulator Roy can hardly believe his luck. He is then surprised to find himself caring about her, turning what should be an easy swindle into a complex puzzle where the stakes are so much higher than he can begin to realise.

With this film, the plot really is everything and the best enticement is to say as little as possible so that any spoilers are avoided. What is clear is that these two incredible actors are having a great time on screen. That thought is as enticing as the plot.

These two legendary actors are joined on screen by a quality supporting cast that includes Russell Tovey, Jim Carter and Mark Lewis.
