“This is a story about young people on the verge of adulthood, young people wanting to love, to play football and lead normal lives in a city dominated by violence and hatred”

Quote by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber

Our Amateur production of this award-winning Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ben Elton musical, follows the fortunes of a group of teenagers from both sides of the religious divide during "The Troubles" in 1960s Belfast. It creates an atmosphere from the start and emotionally engages with the audience. The show goes from big chorus numbers, almost rap sections to beautiful ballads, with an undeniable Northern Irish story.

The journey for one team with two beliefs will wrap around your heart. This is a passionate and energetic musical which takes the audience through comedy, violence and moments of heart-breaking pathos.

Ben Elton tells the story with wit and compassion while Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s score will leave you uplifted but very moved.

Some things are meant to just stay with you forever! Now there’s a challenge, but this show will do it!

This musical contains themes and language of an adult nature.

The Beautiful Game was awarded the Best Musical at the Critics Circle Awards.
