On the eve of retirement, Sandra, a middle class, judgmental snob discovers her husband has been having an affair with her best friend and is forced into exile with her bohemian sister who lives on an impoverished inner-city council estate.

Sandra is like a fish out of water, but this change be just what she needs as she reluctantly joins a community dance class and makes new friends. She learns that retirement is just the beginning and divorce could lead to a new lease of life.
