Notes about auditions

We are always keen to welcome new members and all our auditions are open to anyone.

Be prepared for your audition. Find out what the audition pieces are and ask the Director how they see a particular part being played.

All auditionees for a singing part in a musical will be asked to demonstrate that they can sing and follow a short dance routine. Bring a song that shows off your range if you haven't got an audition piece, and make it a piece that you know well. A good confident rendition of something you know well is better than a weak attempt at something you don't really know.

A cast is decided on their audition, and the final decision is the Director's. If you ask the Director why you were not cast, you will get an honest answer and helpful criticism.

If you are dyslexic or have a problem with sight reading, contact Helen (tel. Rugby 575833) and let her know well before the audition. She will get you an audition piece as soon as possible and will give you any help you may need.
