Up and coming business man, loves DIY. No nonsense practical approach to everything (including his wife!!). Total lack of empathy to other peoples’ feelings.

RONALD BREWSTER-WRIGHT
Playing age 45+
A well-bread man and a Banker. Rather imposing in appearance but in no way distinguished. Now in his second marriage and openly admits he finds women totally incomprehensible!!

MARION BREWSTER-WRIGHT
Playing age - noticeably younger than Ronald
Rather patronising to those she considers beneath her. Bored with life and an alcoholic.

GEOFFREY JACKSON
Playing age - mid 30s
Geoffrey is an architect, a handsome man and shameless womaniser. Ultimately as his fortunes start to wain he finally starts to appreciate the value a loyal wife offers him.

EVA JACKSON
Playing age also mid 30s
Geoffrey’s long suffering wife. Uses medication to cope with her troubled marriage, eventually reaching a point where she tries to commit suicide. Things start to improve for her as her relationship with her husband takes a turn for the better.

Director’s note:
The comedy in this show relies on us keeping the characters believable and not trying to play them for laughs. This is one of the things I will look for in the audition.
