The theatre

The theatre building can accommodate 273 people and wheelchairs. Click here for a seating plan.

Facilities for the Disabled

There are wheel-chairs spaces in the stalls, near but not adjoining seats, with access from the street through a side entrance. These spaces can be reserved at the Box Office in the same way as ordinary seats. It is advisable to book in advance to avoid disappointment on the night.

The auditorium is fitted with an Induction Loop System to assist people who use hearing-aids. By switching your aid to the "T" position you will obtain a much clearer reception with most of the background noise eliminated. The system is in operation during live productions and films. It was generously donated to the Theatre by the Rugby Rokeby Club of Lions International.

Talks and tours

Guided tours of the Theatre can be arranged for groups of people, taking in the back-stage areas, workshops, stores and the stage. Tread the boards that Macbeth, Henry VIII, Lord Nelson, David Copperfield, Jane Eyre and Cinderella (to name but a few) have trodden before you! Book a tour and discover how the Theatre works.

We can also arrange for speakers to give talks on various aspects of the Theatre to any interested groups. To book a talk or tour, send an email to the Administration Director or write to us - see the Contact Us page.

Hiring the theatre

You can hire the theatre for both rehearsals and performances, and can also include facilities like sound equipment, scenery, costumes and props. Rooms in Central Hall are also available for hire.
